AN EXHIBITION IN TWO PARTS
Adams and Ollman, Portland, Oregon
JUNE 9–AUGUST 12, 2017

During the summer months, Adams and Ollman will have on view a two-part group exhibition that explores the contemporary female body as sign or symbol. The metaphors of "blason anatomique", a historic poetic convention of objectification, are the jumping off point for this exhibition which surveys the ways that artists alternately codify their own bodies' representation using oppositional, hybrid forms which offer visions of strength and power. In the exhibition, abstraction is frequently employed as the figure and its parts are re-coded as stylized forms and reinvented as new totems, signs and symbols.

Jeff Bailey Gallery will show work at the Dallas Art Fair, April 6-9, 2017
